Game Updates

In the World of Warcraft, Arasia, my rogue has reached level 85, and has high enough gear level to run the Troll dungeons.  I’m not really impressed in the conversion of the dungeons from raids to Heroic dungeons.  I’ve enjoyed running through the other dungeons, and I’m debating on what to do so I can get into the Dragon Soul dungeons and raid.  I’ve also started a blood elf warrior, so I can check out the zones from the Horde perspective.  

My main focus has been playing Star Wars: The Old Republic.  I’ve recently completed the final quests on Ilum with my Sentinel, Strumwulf, as well as been able to run the Hard Mode version of The False Emperor. I picked the Columuni chest piece there.   I want to run more Flash Points and to try my hand at an Operation, but finding the right time to be on is difficult.  I’ve started several alts, with my main interest being my Imperial Agent, Daria Lynn.  She is based off the spy Melody Powers mentioned in the Daria TV series.

The Old Republic

I’ve given Warcraft a break for a while now, and I am now playing Star Wars: The Old Republic.  I have a character of every main class made.  My main character is a Level 50 Jedi Sentinel.  I’m having a lot fun following the class storyline, and the individual planet and flashpoint storylines are fun as well.

Thorim and the Sons of Hodir

Arasia is now level 79. When i hit 78, I decided I would do the Stormpeaks questlines to help me on my way to 80. The quests were as fun and connected as I remember. I’ve unlocked all of the Sons of Hodir dailies, and have reached 19000/21000 revered with them. Completing all the dailies today should push me to exalted, so I can buy the shoulder enchants to use once I hit 80, until I can work on the Therazane rep to get the next set. With the Thorim questline, I’ve started clearing out Maker’s Terrace of Loken’s servants, and soon should confront Loken. Even though I know how the story is going to turn out, it is still a great questline to play through.

Arasia has reached the 412 in leatherworking and has almost maxed out her skinning. The LW patterns at this level are great for filling in the gap between quest awards and dungeon gear. Hopefully this keeps up with the catacylsm patterns.

Running Dungeons

As I’ve mentioned in my last post, I’ve been running Heroic BC dungeons and Normal Northrend dungeons to level up to 80, instead of questing through Northrend. For the most part it has been a good experience. I’ve only had a couple of PUGs fall apart on me, but I’ve gotten a bit of experience, a few Justice Points and a little bit of Honor, along with gear. My biggest complaint is the brackets for the random dungeon finder. When I open the section to specific dungeons, I have access to 2 more dungeons then I have through the Random Dungeon Finder. Let me have access to those dungeons as well, so I don’t get burned out on running the same 3 dungeons for days at a time.

On the crafting side, I’ve leveled my Leatherworking up to 385. I’m now able to make level appropriate gear, and actually replace some of my gear from the BC Dungeons. I’ve also been doing crafting on my other characters to make usuable gear for Arasia, as well as collecting mats. Archaeology has been a slow slog. Especially since, I get skill points from completing projects now. I’m looking forward to the 4.3 patch and the new Darkmoon Faire profession quests, so I can level my profession faster.

The 70s

I’ve gotten Arasia, my rogue into the 70s now, and I’ve decided to do something a little different here. Instead of questing, I’m just going to do Archaeology, the various Daily quests available, any holiday quests that come up and dungeon runs until I reach Level 80. I’m flipping between the Northrend Dungeons and the Heroic BC dungeons, trying to finish up my BC dungeon achievements before I start the Cataclysm 80-85 content.

On the crafting side, I’ve almost reached 450 with Skinning, and I need to gather more materials to level up my leatherworking. I’m currently at 195, and need to pickup some more Heavy leather to reach 200, and start working with Thick leather.

On a side note, I’m almost trying out NaNoWriMo this year. Once I get more than a few paragraphs written, I’ll post them up in the story section.
